I’m on the set of Hulu’s The Dropout. And I just wanted to send you a little video note about something I heard Jack Nicholson say that’s been inspiring me lately.
Check out Jack Nicholson’s audio below! And drop a comment to let me know your thoughts. There’s a lot in what he reads.

Roxanne says
Being and imagination comes from my body. Understanding and ideas come from my head.
Josh Pais says
Absolutely!
Well said!
Thanks
Josh
Verlon says
Anytime someone speaks on imagination I perk up because for me that’s where most of the fun is.
Josh Pais says
Same here, Verlon.
Happy this perked you up.
Have a beautiful day!
Josh
Eric Cotti says
This is incredible, thanks for sharing, Josh. Hearing him talk about spontaneous imagination not suffering from a block is creative invincibility, which is the gift you guide us to. Forever grateful 🙏
Josh PAis says
Aw thanks Eric!
So happy you are creating so fully as an actor and creator!
Be well!
Josh
Beth Barany says
“Imagination will not suffer from a block.”
I love this reminder. It’s about openness, and listening, and letting what is ready to emerge.
Thanks for sharing this Josh! Good luck on set! Looks like you’re having a blast 🙂
Josh Pais says
Thanks for your comment Beth.
Yes, I am having a blast!
Yes – letting it emerge as result of openness – yup.
Rock on

My most inspirational moments as an art educator came from this place. Being swiftly transported in being to the right words, the body movements. When I was “in” the excitement, love or disdain for the subject I was teaching, they got it. The kids got it.
Josh Pais says
So beautiful.
Such a gift to the kids.
Relish in that success!

Michael Sanders says
Love that wisdom from Jack! As a coach, I can over-prepare and then I’m in my head versus meeting my client where they’re at in the moment and allowing their agenda to drive the conversation. It flows so much better when I can remember to do that!
Josh Pais says
Yes – the greatest reminder for us all.
Really interact with what is in front of us as opposed to something our mind made up beforehand.
Thanks for that, Michael.

Kristin McCloy says
Josh you’re so pretty! How does a monkey stay so pretty?
Monk says
They have a good make up dept on the show. Plus organic as much as possible and nothing processed. And jumping from tree to tree, of course.
