Press & Media

Josh Pais is a working actor. You’ve seen him - and that’s probably why you’re here. He’s been in over a hundred movies and TV shows. After going through a traditional Stanislavski based actor training Josh felt there was more. He went on a journey, studying with acting masters and directors from all over the world. He wanted to find a way to make spontaneity something he could count on - as opposed to something that might happen.

He started to workshop and develop ways of accessing that spontaneity and as a result of his explorations, universities and acting companies began asking him to teach. He declared repeatedly that he wasn’t a teacher, but the requests were ongoing and he finally gave it a shot. Eventually he founded Committed Impulse - a new, revolutionary, and fully comprehensive approach to acting that departs from traditional, heady, Stanislavski based methodologies.

Over the last couple of decades, Committed Impulse has launched countless careers and reignited the joy of acting for thousands of actors.

Josh continues to find tremendous joy training actors and entrepreneurs to get out of their damn heads, by accessing their spontaneity, truth, presence, and creativity.
