Times are tough, friend.
But I saw something on the news that actually lightened my heart.
Yes, on the news.
On Sunday night there was a story about a guy discovering frolicking. See pictures below.
Frolicking.
I love it.
Frolicking inspired me to write this lil Manifesto…
The Art of Playing.
First off… artists and creators I suspect experience vulnerability more than most people.
And, in the face of our vulnerability, and fear and anxiety, we cannot allow ourselves to shut down.
No good comes from stress, but miracles happen when we enter into playfulness.
So… Shall we? The art of playing? Join me, friend, won’t you…
The Art of Playing Manifesto…
1.) When we PLAY we represent the best part of ourselves.
2.) PLAYING includes creating with exactly what we are feeling in this given moment.
REMINDER: If we try to get rid of what we’re feeling, we shut down our ability to create and play. Yup, they’re connected.
3.) We commit to making PLAY intentional. The magic-sauce to intentional playing is made up of wonder, invention, and being wide open to making fantastic delicious mistakes.
4.) Our PLAYFULNESS is infectious – and will invite others into the playful zone.
REMINDER: Being judgmental of ourselves also spreads like wildfire. We have the ability to change things when on set, or anywhere.
5.) The art of PLAYING involves experimentation without self-judgment or criticism.
REMINDER: You can always use The 4 Access Points to get out of self-debilitating thinking. It works! Need a free lesson on The 4 Access Points? Hit reply to this email, and we’ll send it your way.
6.) We are PLAYFULNESS waiting to happen.
7.) PLAYFULNESS will take us where we want to go.
REMINDER: trying to do-it-right sends off the playful angels.
8.) Joe and Barbara Playful (they’re a couple) are hanging out in the party room with love + creativity + intention. You can go in, you’re cool.
REMINDER: Playful and stress can’t coexist. They don’t ever hang out together in the party room.
9.) Nurturing our playfulness is a worthy cause.
REMINDER: we must not let the intensity of all that is happening shut us down. Ever. We are artists and creators! The world needs us – and our playfulness. More than ever.
10.) Playfulness + Creativity + Intention can make you rich.
If you have more to add to this playfulness manifesto – please leave a comment below and let us know. We’ll make a master manifesto list and share it with everyone.
And now, the frolicking man as seen on NBC.

As we drudge on in our every day lives, it’s just too easy to forget all this…
So I printed it out and put it on the wall where I know my eyes will catch it at least once a day 😀
