How (not) to prep to book the job

How do you bridge your prep work with being spontaneous in the moment of creation?
A wonderful actor asked me this question in a Committed Impulse session recently. This question inspired me to create a little video for you.

Many of us hold onto our prep work like a flotation device because it feels safe – plus that prep is based on a technique that we learned. Makes sense.

But, more often than not, holding on to our prep often blocks us from surrendering to the magic and beauty of true creation. And it prevents the audience from seeing YOU.

Let this video embolden you to surrender your prep and thereby unleash your creativity.
This may just be the key to booking the job.

We’ve got our upcoming free CI Zoom Hangout on May 19th (my dad’s birthday!).
If you’ve got a question you’d like me to answer on the call – email it to us now. And be sure to sign up to attend the hangout here. It’s always a fun hour with a great CI crew.

Also, our classes are filling up faster than usual. If you’d like to join us it’s best not to wait.
Read all about them and register here.

After you’ve watched the video, let us know, do you have room to let go of your prep?

So awesomely rich! 🌟 Thanks to the person that asked this question as I’ve .so. struggled with the alchemy of these two things in application. The bridge analogy helped bring the two parts together. I equated it to my snowboarding too. I get geared out, wax my board, get to the mountain, eat breakfast, and stretch… I don’t need to keep going back to my mountain prep work. I ride with my what I have prepped with, reference my training when I need it, but mostly, I shred it up on the mountain and deal with all the terrain, weather, be with friends, and ride it full out, feeling all the feels, creating the experience. Thanks for sharing the valuable insight!
