You Never Feel Insufficient

The planet needs your creativity, your art, your business, YOU.
We can no longer spend time spinning around in the illusion that we are not ready, or insufficient.

So let’s break down this illusion RIGHT NOW.

First off – you don’t feel insufficient.

You never have.

Really.

I get it, you may think you have felt insufficient.

But, truth is you haven’t actually felt that for one simple reason.

Let’s break it down. (cue soundtrack)

Look, your body is the source of where you FEEL, right?
Without a body, you would not FEEL.

Here are some of the kinds of experiences your body feels…

Expansion
Contraction
Chaotic spinning energy
Calm energy
Energy rising in your chest
Energy sinking down to your belly
Pain, pleasure and the full range of emotions

HOWEVER… (!!!)
Your body does not FEEL Insufficient.
… does not FEEL Inadequate.
… does not FEEL Insecure.

Your body doesn’t know of these three “I’s.”

THEREFORE IT IS KEY TO SEE THAT THOSE 3 I’s ARE GENERATED BY THOUGHTS IN YOUR HEAD – NOT FEELINGS IN THE BODY.

YOUR BODY DOESN’T HAVE A CLUE ABOUT FEELING INADEQUATE.
JUST AS A DOG DOESN’T HAVE CLUE ABOUT EXPERIENCING BEING INADEQUATE.

So, if you catch yourself saying something like, “I feel Inadequate,” it is essential to see this is being generated in your thoughts. Not your body.

Sure, you may feel one of the body experiences listed above – but you are then linking a series of THOUGHTS to those sensations to come to the conclusion that you feel inadequate. Which has the underlying meaning that you ARE inadequate. B to the U to the double L to the S to the H-I-T.

HERE’S YOUR 6 STEP PRACTICE, you rebel, you!

Please note: this is about a lot more than semantics.
This is about eliminating elements (SUCH AS BEING IN A MENTAL DRAMA) that block your creativity and ability to act (or take action) in the moment.

So, the next time you think to yourself – “I feel insufficient”, or “not-enough”, or “I am inadequate because…”

Here’s your 6 step practice:

1.) STOP.
2.) Don’t go into a mental drama to build a case against yourself. How?
Start by saying, “I’m Back.”
3.) Notice that you probably are not seeing what is around you – so, really see what is there. We must connect to what is real.
4.) Tune in to what you actually feel in your body – maybe some heaviness in your legs or someone intense spinning in your torso, for example.
5.) Increase your breath to increase your ability to feel the sensations – without judging them as good or bad – just feel the purity of what is in your body ( It’s all good).
6.) Practice seeing, feeling, breathing – and anytime you go into crappy thoughts, go back to step 1 and repeat.

These six steps will start to burn up the pattern (and illusion) of “feeling” insufficient.

So, you may have questions or comments about this.

Please write them below – and let’s talk about it.
Have an awesome, creative day, my friend!

Josh

I needed this today. Thank you! I have had exciting opportunities lately, but instead of relishing them, I’ve been letting fear and stories of imposter syndrome take up space in my head. So, right now “I’m back” and looking forward to a glorious day.

Feel the purity of the fear – which is just some energy moving around – and keep coming back when the mind takes over. AND BIG CONGRATS,
      MEL!

Thank you so much Josh for this blog. I have been caught up in a mental drama yesterday as I seem to be in a different arena, auditioning a lot more than ever before and the mean thoughts seem so much louder and stronger. So I guess it’s more important now more than ever to go back to these six simple steps. I really appreciate this reminder that my Body is my best friend and to trust it more as I play a bigger game in my life. This blog is exactly what I needed to read this morning. Much gratitude ❤️

      Hi Eileen
It’s key to remember that as you expand further into the world and into your career – you will feel more vibrations in your body – and need even more – as you said to return to the 6 steps. Big Congrats!!!!

This is so important. I often beat myself up and send myself into a shame spiral and then cannot get back. I love “I’m back”. Thank you for this!

Most people do exactly that. So big congrats for catching when it starts and snapping out of it with “I’m back.”
Keep up this practice, Tammi, and you will have so much more room to create whatever you want.
      Best,
      Josh

Stumbled onto this e-mail while freeking out. So Hard to focus on anything.
Happy 2020 to all! Today, mental dramas flow like lava. Hot and heavy. Anxiety to the MAX, in preparation for the LA intensive. Fear of the unknown for sure.
I fly out in 48hrs and a jumbled mess bounces around my mind and body as I try to figure out what needs to be done, completed, good to go while I’m gone.

As if that’s not enough the “I”s” are in full swing. On top of that I’ve managed to add one more “I” IDIOT! My stomach turns enough to make me nauseous. Now it’s in my throat… Hope I don’t puke…Shit! Fuck! Maybe I should cancel this whole thing. Why am I even going? AHhhhhh….. And it continues from there.

Wait a fucking minute! What is it really? My mind is in the spin cycle. Time to hit stop and check in… And I have been, while I’ve been writing this. Just breath…
Wow, I am able to take inventory and write at the same time??
My throat feels fine, my stomach has calmed, I’m laughing while I’m writing. Really!
    So….uhm… what was the issue?…
Ok, so this all just happened. No B.S. This is why I keep all of your e-mails/tools. I’m Back! I’m ready for LA it’s gonna be awesome !
    I’m Back,
    Marcelo
