Before we get started…
If you’re not signed up for the Committed Impulse hangout on January 12th from 7-8pm EST – umm – why not?
Yes, it’s free.
And, yes, the theme of the hangout is being bold within uncertainty.
Yes, it’s on Zoom – how else could we hang out?
Obviously, I can’t tell ya everything that will go on during this hour because that wouldn’t strengthen your ability to hang out and be inspired by uncertainty. But I’ve got a couple of exercises for you that will snap you into the moment. And yes – you can do these exercises from your Zoom chair. Or your throne.
HERE’S WHAT I THINK…
Uncertainty is the most creatively fueling element we have to work with. It is not something to be avoided. We must train to be bold within the flame of uncertainty. Come on, that was poetic!
You’ve experienced something creative coming forth from your sweet depths – and you don’t quite know where, why, or how it came forth, right?
I’ll bet at that moment, you didn’t even know it but… you were open to uncertainty – to the unknown. And some brilliance snuck through. What if we can widen the gap so that even more of your creative impulses can bubble to the surface? Would you be open to that?
I know when I’m acting in a movie or TV show – the best work happens when I surrender to the unknown elements of the moment. Those scenes are always exponentially better for an audience to watch than the scenes I have calculated for success: #Nobody-wants-to-see-that.
One other thing before you catapult into your day…
Registration opens for CHARACTER LAB from January 10th – 20th. I’m excited for you because I know how much this course is going to infuse you with creative juice. It’s not to be missed. When I say excited for you – it’s the same kind of excitement I have for someone who just discovered a new TV show to binge. I’m excited that they are going to go on such an awesome journey.
Character Lab is that kind of journey – but you’re the star. I don’t teach it often – and I limit class size. (SIDE NOTE: I am so into The Americans right now with my good friend Keri. If you haven’t seen it – I am excited for you.)
See you in class, soon!
