I’m very happy about it.
But what will make me even happier is to hear when the same is happening for you.
After spending a couple years writing and then promoting my book (Lose Your Mind: The Path to Creative Invincibility) finally in January I was ready to get back to my first creative love – acting.
I’m so happy to report that I’ve since booked two movies.
One is done.
The other I am in the midst of – and am having sooo much fun on.
(I can’t talk about them yet – but here is a lil BTS pic)
As you prob know by now I am intrigued by the dance between presence, fun, spontaneity, and bringing a script to life.
I aim to drop into those elements in my own work, as well as having a weird skillset of being able to get others to drop into their best work as well.
My goal as an actor is to have an intellectual understanding of the script, and then to use the Committed Impulse tools to convert that understanding into spontaneous organic behavior.
When the conversion is successful…
- I no longer have to think HOW I am going to say a line.
- I am instantly charged with energy throughout my body.
- My nervous system settles so I can step into the unknown of each take.
- Spontaneity is inevitable.
- My self tapes stand out.
- I come up with choices far richer than what my mind could come up with.
- My work, on occasion, invites everyone on set to jump into the magic of the moment.
- Work goes from being a grind to being a celebration.
