You know at your core that what you have to offer the world is pretty darn extraordinary.
But moments later…
You don’t believe that to be true at all.
Why does that happen?
Let’s break this down a bit to see what’s really going on.
It’s pretty simple really.
Maybe not what you expected…
It all has to do with having a low tolerance for certain body sensations.
For most of us, everything is going along fine, maybe even great.
We put ourselves further into the world… More into the unknown… Outside our comfort zone…
And what happens?
We feel more.
More emotions, more body vibrations, and chances are – more of what we Don’t Like to FEEL!!
So what do you most of us do?
We try to reduce what we’re feeling.
We bring into play all our new age techniques to get calm and centered.
Only one problemo with that…
That’s what screws us up.
So, it’s pretty much a guarantee that when you have an audition, shoot a TV show, do some public speaking, launch your new website, or even ask someone for something you want, that your body is going to vibrate more. Ya know, heart pounding, stomach twisting, chest buzzing – those kinda vibrations.
And when those vibrations kick in you have two radically different options…
And these two radically options are going to produce radically different results…
Suppress yourself – this includes attempting to manipulate yourself to some “ideal” state of being.
Your attention will leave the energy/emotion/sensation in your body – and where will your attention go? To your thoughts. And, unfortunately, those are not inspiring thoughts. Those are downright ABUSIVE thoughts that boil down to some version of “I SUCK!” Can you say “DRAAAAMAA”
Stay with the emotions/sensations/body energy. Increase your tolerance for the full spectrum of your sensations. Actually welcome those sensations. It’s called being alive. Feel where in your body those sensations are pumping, spinning, or expanding. Breathe to feel. And at the same time stay connected to whatever is actually in front of you.
Yup – it may be intense for 7-12 seconds. But it will keep you out of that abusive self defeating thinking. And if you can know that all that sensation is just a creative jet pack of energy to support you – then you are golden.
Option 1 is going to leave you doubting you have much to offer the world. Creating anything will be tragic and difficult.
Option 2 is going to keep you connected to your core which deeply knows that what you have to offer the world is pretty darn extraordinary. So, go be a star, wouldya?!!
