For so many years I thought the best attack on business was to be really rigorous. Push to the point of exhaustion if necessary.
Push that rock up the hill, and shit.
Endurance was the the way.
I’m starting to see there’s another possibility.
I am not 100% sure about it – but there is definitely something to it.
What if… the universe ( you know, everything we don’t understand), what if the universe was here to make all our dreams come true?
What if struggle is really unnecessary (as in absolutely pointless)?
I gotta say – this would be fucked up for me cause I spent a lotta time struggling.
But what if we just need to stop sending confusing signals – and just do our work.
Here’s an example.
In class recently, I asked a talented actor, we’ll call Bob, what his commitment was to being an actor.
Bob replied, “Well, I’m 50/50 on it.” We talked further and Bob said he booked a job and then over the weekend the production decided to recast him.
So, in essence the universe responded to Bob’s 50/50 commitment level.
The universe responded to the 50% IN, and then responded to the 50% OUT.
I’ve been playing with the notion that the universe is on my side – I just need to direct it.
I like how it feels, and like how the universe responds to this approach.
I thought you’d groove on this too.
Have a magical day
oh yes, magic is needed! pling* (and it is true, the things, were i m clear and light and 100%in, they go so much easier than the other stuff, that is heavy, because i think, i should be doing it 🙂 … i love the universe.)
thank you for your reminder, josh!(divinely timed – thank you, universe and josh!)

I really like how you define the universe as “you know, everything we don’t understand.”
Can’t wait for class tomorrow!! YAY!!!
