If you’re reading this, then I know you are passionate about bringing all of yourself to every creative act that you do. Whether you’re working on a movie or TV show – or working towards being on one – or getting ready to give a TED talk about your insights. Or maybe you’re finishing your painting, screenplay or, well, giving birth (for some wonderful reason we’ve been having a lot of pregnant people in our classes). I want to say, Thank You for being part of CI.
Actor Eric Cotti recently messaged me on Instagram. He shared the great news that he booked his first professional job on a Netflix show.
“Since doing the Advanced Lab a few months back I started to drastically rethink my work and this career. Your advice to speak with my manager and change my look to represent the roles I wanted to play has been invaluable. I started to embody what it would feel like to be a series regular on a Netflix show. Shortly after that, I booked a two-liner in a new Netflix drama.
I felt great at the audition, practiced the access points while in the waiting room, and stuck with my atomic choices while in the audition room. The casting director was over the moon with her response. I transferred all that energy to my day on set as well. This was my first professional booking and my main thought for the day was “just stay with the access points, be kind to everyone and do the work.” Cut to this morning…
I just read the script for my third episode that I’ll be appearing in for this show.
They’ve been adding me into these other episodes for my character to keep coming back and I’m excited to see what’s ahead. Thank you for the work we do in class and I’m so grateful to have found this practice.”
What really struck me – and continues to blow me away is what happens when we shift how we MOVE. Both within our bodies – and into our lives. Embodying yourself as the success you want to experience, sends signals out into the universe way beyond time and space.
Yea – that sounds woo-woo to me too – but this sh*t is working. Plus – we don’t need affirmations or inner statements. Affirmations typically put you, and those around you, into their heads – and out of the moment.
I coach a small group of people that are getting offers on movies and TV shows or transforming their workplace. How? They’re using the Inner Atomic tools and Sub-personality work. Remember: we are constantly sending out signals from our bodies, and other people are constantly receiving these signals.
So, might as well send out a signal that corresponds to what you want to generate in the world.
Interestingly, the same Committed Impulse tools we use to create a character can also be used to generate an embodiment practice that will expand your career. Regardless of what career you have, by the way.
We’d like to hear from you…
How have you used CI to book a job?
Rock On!
