If you’re reading this, then I know you are passionate about bringing all of yourself to every creative act that you do. Whether that be a movie or TV show you’re working on – or working towards – or doing a TED talk about your insights. Or finishing your painting, screenplay or, well, giving birth ( For some wonderful reason we’ve been having a lot of pregnant people in class.). I want to say, Thank You for being part of CI.
This week, actor Eric Cotti messaged me on Instagram about how he booked his first professional job on a Netflix show.
“Since doing the Advanced Lab a few months back I started to drastically rethink my work and this career. Your advice about speaking with my manager and changing my look to represent the roles I wanted to play has been invaluable. I started to embody what it would feel like to be a series regular on a Netflix show. Shortly after that I booked a two liner in a new Netflix drama. Felt great at the audition, practiced the access points while in the waiting room, and stuck with my atomic choices while in the audition room. The casting director was over the moon with her response. I transferred all that energy to my day on set as well. This was my first professional booking and my main thought for the day was “just stay with the access points, be kind to everyone and do the work.” Cut to this morning…
I just read the script for my third episode that I’ll be appearing in for this show.
They’ve been adding me into these other episodes for my character to keep coming back and I’m excited to see what’s ahead. Thank you for the work we do in class and I’m so grateful to have found this practice.”
What really struck me – and continues to blow me away is what happens when we shift how we MOVE – within our bodies – and into our lives. Embodying yourself as that success that you want to be sends signals out into the universe way beyond time and space.
Yea – that sounds woo-woo to me too – but this sh*t is working. Plus – no affirmations or inner statements are needed – those typically put you, and those around you, into their heads – and out of the moment.
I coach a small group of people that are getting offers on movies and TV shows, or transforming their workplace – by using the Inner Atomic tools and Sub-personality work. Remember: we are constantly sending out signals, and these signals are constantly being received. And the signal is sent from our bodies. So, might as well send out a signal that corresponds to what you want to generate in the world.
Interestingly – the same Committed Impulse tools we use to create a character – can also be used to generate an embodiment practice that will expand your career. Regardless of what career you have, by the way.
We’d like to hear from you…
How have you used CI to book a job?
